DownMark iOS 1.1 & Mac 1.9.4: A More Immersive Reading Experience and Smoother Extraction
Today we’re shipping updates across both platforms: DownMark iOS 1.1 refines the reading experience to be more immersive and focused, while DownMark for Mac 1.9.4 makes web extraction more reliable than ever.
DownMark for iOS 1.1: Reading That Disappears Into the Content
The article library is at the heart of DownMark for iOS, and this release is all about making the reading experience feel effortless.
When you scroll through a long article, the on-screen controls are now hidden automatically as you scroll up, letting the content extend edge to edge. The toolbar reappears the moment you need it, so nothing stands between you and the text.
We also refined the safe-area and first-screen layout. Whether you’re reading Markdown source or the rendered view, content now displays completely from the very first screen — no clipped headings, no awkward gaps at the top of the page.
If you’ve been reading long-form articles in DownMark on iPhone or iPad, this update should feel noticeably smoother.
DownMark for Mac 1.9.4: Extraction You Can Rely On
On the Mac side, 1.9.4 is a stability-focused release built around one goal: making sure a clip always completes.
We adapted to changes in the underlying extraction interface, fixing an issue where the overlay could stay on screen and the extraction appeared to hang after it had finished. No more staring at a stuck progress overlay.
We also fixed a crash that could occur when tapping the cancel button, so interrupting a conversion is now always safe and clean.
These fixes are the result of real-world reports, and they make the day-to-day clipping experience noticeably more dependable on complex pages.
