Zin Flow v2.9.1: Directional Batch Selection, Indie App Promotions & a More Stable Pipeline

Introduction

If you manage a growing library in Zin Flow, you know the feeling: you’ve collected the articles you want to read later, but tackling them one at a time gets old fast. v2.9.1 is all about making bulk management effortless.

This update brings directional library selection so you can act on a whole run of articles at once, introduces indie app cross-promotions (automatic for Pro users), adds an official Reddit community, and hardens the EPUB export pipeline on both iOS and macOS.

It ships simultaneously on iOS and macOS, with both Safari and Chrome extensions.

Directional Library Selection: Manage a Whole Run at Once

The library is where Zin Flow shines — but until now, selecting many articles could still mean tapping each row individually.

With v2.9.1, long-press any article row to select everything above or below it in a single motion. Once selected, you can:

  • Archive a whole run of articles you’re done with.
  • Mark as read everything you’ve already consumed.
  • Export a continuous batch to EPUB without re-selecting each piece.

This turns what used to be a repetitive, multi-tap chore into one long press and one action. Whether you’re clearing out a run of finished reads or assembling a batch for a single EPUB book, it’s now dramatically faster.

This was one of the most requested improvements from our community — quick selection for bulk library actions. We’re glad it’s here.

Indie App Cross-Promotions: Discover Great Tools, Sustainably

Zin Flow lives in a healthy ecosystem of independent apps, and we want to help you find them. v2.9.1 introduces app cross-promotions — quality apps from other indie developers, surfaced right inside the library.

The promotion slots are hidden automatically for Pro subscribers, so lifetime or subscription owners see an uninterrupted, clean library. For free users, it’s a subtle, relevant nudge to discover useful tools without interrupting your reading flow.

This is a sustainable take on app promotion: it helps independent developers reach the right audience while keeping Zin Flow’s core experience focused for paying users.

A Home for Feedback: Welcome to r/ZinFlow

Community has always shaped Zin Flow, and we’re formalizing that with an official Reddit community: r/ZinFlow.

The “Contact Developer” page now offers a direct link to the community, making it easier to:

  • Join discussions and share how you use Zin Flow.
  • Request features and report issues alongside other readers.
  • Follow announcements and tips in one place.

For a tool built around long-form reading, an active community is a natural extension — we’d love to see you there.

A More Stable EPUB Export Pipeline

Long-form reading is only as good as the book you end up with. Under the hood, v2.9.1 optimizes the EPUB export architecture, making the iOS and macOS export flows more stable and consistent.

This is groundwork as much as a fix: by unifying how both platforms build EPUBs, we’ve removed inconsistencies that could appear between device families, and set up a sturdier foundation for future exporting features. The practical result is fewer surprises when you export a batch to a single, well-structured ebook.

Stability Fixes in This Release

  • Browser extension pairing: Fixed an occasional deadlock when pairing the browser extension, making article saving more reliable — especially right after a fresh connection.
  • iOS diagnostics page: Fixed the background color issue on the settings diagnostics page, so it renders correctly in all appearance modes.

Conclusion

v2.9.1 may look like a quiet patch on the surface, but it addresses the two things that matter most in everyday use: speed and reliability. Directional selection makes bulk library management feel effortless, while a steadier export pipeline and a fixed extension pairing mean fewer interruptions between “interesting page” and “ready in my library.”

We’re also excited to open up the community and support fellow indie developers along the way.
