ZinFlow v2.7.2: Smarter Sidebar, Stable Editing & Refined Menus

Introduction

Hot on the heels of v2.7’s cover and metadata overhaul, we’re shipping two consecutive polish releases — v2.7.2 and v2.7.1 — that refine the reading experience from the ground up. From a smarter sidebar and stable chapter editing to watermark-free EPUB exports and an iOS 18 foundation, these updates make ZinFlow faster, more reliable, and more customizable than ever.

What’s New in v2.7.2

Released June 3, 2026

🔌 Browser Extension Connection Stability

We’ve optimized the connection between ZinFlow and its browser extension to be more robust. Less disruption, smoother saving — your articles arrive when you expect them.

🏷️ Smarter Tag Management

Keeping your library organized just got easier with two new tag-focused features:

  • Show Empty Tags Toggle: A new toggle in the sidebar tag area lets you hide tags that have no associated articles. Empty tags are hidden by default, keeping your sidebar clean and focused.
  • Filter Submenu: A new filter submenu in the menu bar gives you quick access to toggle empty tag visibility — no need to dig into settings.

🛠️ Auto-Repair Duplicate Tags

ZinFlow now automatically detects and fixes duplicate tags at startup. If the same tag somehow got duplicated, it’s merged silently — so your library stays tidy without any manual cleanup.

🎨 Stable Chapter Editing Icon Colors

We fixed an issue where icon colors in the chapter editing interface could appear unstable or inconsistent. The color picker and rendered results now match reliably every time.

📋 Reorganized Reading Menu

The reading menu has been reorganized by functional groups, making it easier to find the action you need — whether that’s toggling rendering options, adjusting layout, or accessing export controls.

What’s New in v2.7.1

Released May 31, 2026

✨ Watermark-Free EPUB Cover (Pro)

Pro users can now remove the ZinFlow watermark from exported EPUB covers. This gives you a cleaner, more professional-looking cover — ideal if you’re sharing or publishing your eBooks outside of ZinFlow.

✍️ Refreshed Chapter Editing

The chapter editor gets a significant interaction upgrade:

  • Swipe to Rename/Delete: Swipe left on any subsection to reveal rename and delete actions — fast, intuitive, and consistent with iOS conventions.
  • Stable Drag Reorder: Dragging to reorder chapters and subsections is now more responsive and reliable. Chapter sorting has been fully fixed — no more unexpected jumps.
  • Drag Handles: Visual drag handles make it clear where to grab and move content.

⚙️ Simplified Rendering Settings

We’ve streamlined the rendering options for a cleaner, more predictable experience:

  • Always Best Render: The “Minimal Render” toggle has been removed. ZinFlow now automatically uses the optimal rendering path for every article — no more wondering which mode to choose.
  • Independent Controls: Hyperlinks and small images now have their own independent toggles, giving you fine-grained control over what appears in your final EPUB.

🚀 Upgraded to iOS 18

ZinFlow’s core has been upgraded to target iOS 18, adopting modern APIs throughout. This means:

  • Better Performance: Faster launches, smoother scrolling, and lower memory usage.
  • Improved Stability: Fewer edge cases and crashes thanks to modern Swift concurrency patterns.
  • Future-Ready: Built on the latest platform foundation, ensuring compatibility with upcoming iOS releases.

🔧 Markdown Rendering Fix

We resolved a compatibility issue where the $ sign in article text was incorrectly interpreted as a LaTeX math formula delimiter. Markdown rendering now handles dollar signs correctly, so pricing or currency references in your articles appear as intended.

Conclusion

These two releases represent our commitment to continuous improvement. v2.7.2 polishes the everyday experience — stable editing, smarter tags, and a reorganized menu — while v2.7.1 delivers meaningful upgrades for Pro users, a modernized codebase, and interaction refinements that make chapter editing a joy.
